I am a science enthusiast and was first pulled towards this work when I was moved by the beauty of the physiological processes of gestation and birth in a biology class. I looked into professions that work with birth and found studies showing how doulas can positively affect the birth experience. I thought that was so neat I decided to get involved.
As a doula, I am a calm, grounded presence and I hold space for women to find their own unique way of birthing. I feel immensely grateful to be doing this work.
I received training as a birth doula through Doulas of North America (DONA) and as a postpartum doula through Cornerstone Doula Trainings. I am a volunteer birth doula at San Francisco General Hospital. I have a B.A. from Bennington College in psychology and photography and am currently taking prerequisite classes to apply to nurse midwifery programs. I am Child/Infant CPR and First Aid certified through the Red Cross, as well as Trustline certified. I enjoy cooking, yoga, my plants, reading novels, going to the movies, and learning about science.
